It totally depends on the situation. The Aston looks better as a coupe, the Jags are both better as convertibles, and the Mustang looks best in coupe form. I’ll give coupes the nod in general, even though it's different with each car.

Personally, I do not think that any car looks good as a convertible, with the exception of the Miata and the Audi TT.

I generally like coupes more than convertibles. I think the roof lines gives the designers more space to add character to the overall design.

I think the only convertibles I prefer over the hardtop are the 60s big coupes. The Catalina, Continental, those kinds.
